New Owners Have Enhanced Vision For Seven Lakes Golf Club

The new owners of our Golf Club, Dan and Sheila Newell as well as partners Michael and Meera Ivester promise  “hands on” management of the entire golf club including the golf course and restaurant facilities.

The previous group whom were absentee owners thought of SLGC, as a passive investment that was considered an addition to their existing portfolio of golf properties.

Dan Newell will become the new General Manager controlling all operations while Mike Whiteley, a Seven Lakes resident will remain as the PGA Head Golf Professional at the golf club.  The partners love the staff.

Sheila having many years of accounting and fiscal responsibility experience will supervise the accounting and financial division. 

Dan and Sheila have seven children two dogs, five grandkids and  they currently live in Lexington, NC. They are in the process of locating and purchasing  a home in Seven Lakes.  Dan is an avid golfer playing in our upcoming  Wall Of Honor Fall Classic.

Dan’s father is a Veteran and he will have his Dad engraved and will be honored at our community Veterans Memorial.

Michael and Meera Ivester reside in Salisbury, NC and their family includes three kids and 3 dogs.  They own a multi-state contracting firm and they also bring years of experience in the restaurant & hospitality industry owning several restaurants as well as other business interests.  The entire family enjoys fishing, golfing and all types of sports.

They are already impressed with the Moore County school system and have purchased a home on the South side.  On the golf course of all places.

There is no doubt that these partners possess the  entrepreneurial spirit and are experienced business owners with the Newells and Ivesters bringing a wide array of extensive business experience and acumen to the partnership.  Both families have had successful business partnerships with each other, and joining forces in this endeavor   promises to be no different.  The partners are confident that they can put SLGC golf course and restaurant back on the road to success.

They are going to have a ”fun place”  for residents and visitors to enjoy.  Future plans include expanding the club membership base, adding more golfer events, sports entertainment, dinner dances…  In a nutshell, they are going to become a part of our wonderful community, something that has been lacking for several years.   

The Newell’s and the Ivester’s are excited about joining the community and participating with all Seven Lakes has to offer to their families.  Stay tuned for good things to come!
