The first meeting of the 2023 – 2024 membership year of Women of Seven Lakes will be held on Thursday, September 7, at The Chapel in the Pines starting at noon. The Women of Seven Lakes is a not-for-profit organization that holds monthly meetings at the Chapel in the Pines on the first Thursday of each month at 2:00 PM. These meetings consist of a brief business meeting, a speaker and fellowship over refreshments. Speakers are scheduled based on the needs and interests of the members. Speakers for the 2023 – 2024 membership year include Steve Phillips, Director of the Sandhills Coalition; Kathy Treacy, presenting on ways of capturing memories; and Karina English, former certified personal trainer. Also, in October, there will be an onsite tour of the James Creek Cider House in Cameron.
The Women of Seven Lakes also plan to have at least two fundraising events to support several not-for-profit organizations that benefit the Seven Lakes area. The first fundraiser is a Pancake Breakfast with Santa, scheduled for December 2. The second fundraiser is a Spring Fashion Show featuring clothing from Lisa’s Boutique in Carthage and Looking for Linda in Vass. The Spring Fashion show is scheduled for March 23.
