Thanks to Rob McPartland & Chris Mace for providing Lakehouse Bar & Grill for the event and Tom Elliott Sandhills Winery for the helicopter, Bob Nelson for arranging a fabulous car show with participants from the Sandhills Hot Rod Assoc, and Corvette Club, the Tim Wilson Band and the staff of Seven Lakes News in putting this event together for the Wall Of Honor and kudos to the community for buying golf balls to support Our Veterans…

The Seven Lakes News will be sponsoring the Second Annual Helicopter Golf Ball Drop to benefit the Wall Of Honor to take place at the Lakehouse Bar & Grille.
This event will be an an unlikely merger of a helicopter and golf balls that will make for a fun and memorable charitable event.
“It’s a novel event, it’s fun and it’s different,” said Victoria Levinger, Publisher and Executive Director of the Wall Of Honor Board of Directors.
“What we’re trying to create is a unique event in which the entire community can take part in raising funds to help the foundation to off-set its huge costs in maintaining and adding new granite with names as well as the costs of the ceremony every year and will take place on November 4th this year.
To enter and be eligible for prizes you must be 18 and purchase 1 golf ball for $10 or purchase 3 for $25.
You simply will go to the website, pay for the balls and receive a ticket confirmation with your golf ball number and you don’t have to be present to win. We have purchased very inexpensive used range balls in 500 packs.
Typically there are 500+ golf balls numbered 1 to 500 that are dropped around the flagstick.
The idea is a simple one, SL News contracted with Total Flight Solutions to fly a helicopter to the Lakehouse prior to the concert and hover approximately 100’ above the grassy area behind the restaurant so families can watch the balls drop.
The helicopter will then drop individually marked and numbered golf balls onto the grass with a target that is a flag stick.
Similar to a closet to the pin contest the closest marked ball to the flagstick will win the grand prize of $1,000.
