Moving to North Carolina in 1999, Rahnelle joined the Seven Lakes community in 2005.She learned about our community through her work at the Sandhills Center.
Her love of water and the beauty of the community inspired her move here. She and Miguel, her husband, who is retired from the US Air Force and works at Fort Bragg, enjoy life in Seven Lakes.
Born and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Rahnellegraduated from the University of Hawaii with a BA in Psychology. She began her professional life as a social worker and administrator.Much of her work was with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
She believes that working with people with disabilities helped her develop active listening skills, enhanced her ability to assess people‘s needs, express empathy, gain patience and the ability to meet people where they are.She invested herself in the Sandhills and is a 2016 Graduate of the Moore County Leadership Institute.
In November 2021, Rahnelle made a career shift and became a licensed Real Estate Agent. She honed her new skills and went full time with Carolina Property in September 2022.She is an active person and engages in many water related sports and activities as well as walking and jogging.
Her new passion is Pickleball.She plays four to six times a week and plays in a League and for the Seven Lakes Racquet Club.She is also active with the Seven Lakes Recreation Committee and recently started attending Trivia night at the Seven Lakes Golf Club.
Rahnelle joined Seven Lakes Kiwanis in 2021 and almost immediately assumed a leadership role as President-Elect.She moved into the role of President in October of 2022.
She regularly volunteers at Bingo, assists with the Kiwanis Terrific Kids program and is looking forward to the Kindergarten Birdhouse Project and the Pancake Breakfast and other fund-raising activities.
She enjoys giving her time and efforts towards the fund-raising events, which she regards as one of the most essential functions of the club.Rahnelle enjoysmeeting new people and appreciates the opportunity to have her efforts serve the needs of the children of Moore County.
Rahnelle believes she brings a fresh perspective to the Seven Lakes Kiwanis as a working professional.
