If you‘re like most of my friends in Seven Lakes, you visit Wally World every week to buy household goods, paper towels etc at current outrageous prices…
Then you trek over to Harris Teeter or Lowes Foods to do your grocery shopping.
There you buy meat, seafood and other food items after borrowing from your 401K for your purchases as well as gas to get there.
If you need more food items or forget something you can always go to the big convenience store close by, Food Lion.
There is a new way I just discovered to save a ton of money with free delivery…Sam’s Club. I never wanted to drive to Fayetteville after renting a -Haul truck to get things back home. Similar to Amazon, if you join their Plus Club you receive free shipping for only $100 per year.
It’s the reality that we live in, saving money is a HUGE factor in planning life.
Whether you are saving up for a big family vacation or looking to reduce your bills, we are always trying to stretch our dollars. Being frugal doesn’t just mean saving money—it means spending your money wisely.
My new budget was created with a separate category just for Sam’s Club Shopping. I plan ahead and keep a separate list of what I would like to get so we can figure out our budget beforehand.
The best way to ensure you’re getting a good deal is to compare unit prices, such as the cost per ounce.
Online stores will have the unit prices listed on the price tag on the website.
Compare this number to the price you’re normally paying at your regular store. It helps to make a list of the unit prices you typically pay for items you buy often. That way you can just look at the list to compare prices, instead of trying to remember one number while staring at another.
To get the most bang for your buck, concentrate on the items that are on sale at Sam’s Club.
Many items that you would normally buy for your furry friends will be almost 40% cheaper at Sam’s Club.
For Instance, I was looking for a pet bed for my favorite big guy Shiloh. I found it for just $89.88. That same brand pet bed, compared to $107.99 at Target and $99.98 from Walmart.
That was a surprising saving. I like to shop at Sam’s for all my pet care treats compared to Chewey’s. Much, much cheaper.
If you have a lot of prescriptions like we do, there are great savings for everyone who shops on prescription or over-the-counter medications.
Did you know that due to the regulation of drugs, stores cannot require you to be a member to buy prescription medications? This regulation can pay off BIG for members and non-members alike.
Some medicine carried at Sam’s Club can cost as much as 50 percent less than our local pharmacies.
Sam’s Plus members can get 600 generics for $10 or less, and 8 percent less on many brand-name prescriptions.
They offer easy online re-ordering, so you can have products you use shipped regularly, quickly and easily, to your house.
Try them out you’ll be glad you did.
