2021 Volunteer Citizen Of The Year
The Seven Lakes News takes great pleasure in announcing their recipient of Citizen Of The Year, for 2021, Sam Ransdell.
Each year, our community newspaper shines a light on the people in Seven Lakes that inspire us to serve, recognizing and thanking volunteers who lend their time, talent and voice to make a difference in our Seven Lakes community.
In this time of COVID where time equates to money, it is easy for people to ignore volunteering opportunities.
Mr. Sam Ransdell was presented this award for his extraordinary volunteer and charitable efforts for the Seven Lakes community, by Victoria Levinger, Publisher of the Seven Lakes News.
Even though the pandemic has limited some activities this year, Sam remains an active volunteer in our community.
Since the opening of Burney‘s Hardware, Sam has exhibited true community leadership on behalf of the company. Whenever the need arises in our community, Sam and Burney Hardware come to the rescue.
In addition Sam Ransdell has an active role with the Seven Lakes Business Guild, the Pothole Project, Avenue Of Flags, Tree Lighting and provides the Christmas Hay wagon for the kids.
Recently, Sam has joined the Board Of Directors of the Seven Lakes Wall Of Honor and has provided valuable assistance in this project.
The real difference in our community is made by people who choose to put their community and other people’s needs before their own. We are eternally grateful to those who choose to volunteer.
Sam joins previous recipients Ed Hill of Edward Hill Investments and Will Bowers previous Owner/Manager of the Lakehouse Bar and Grill.
