Heard Round’ Town
A local entrepreneur and partner of a Venture Capital group based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is exploring an opportunity to open a Captain D’s Fast Food Fish Franchise now known as a QSR, (Quick Service Restaurant) on Highway #211, North of McDonalds.
Previously, the group spoke to a Long John Silver’s representative, but the Seven Lakes area did not meet the Franchisors criteria for population or traffic counts.
The group is now considering a Captain D’s Seafood Express restaurant. The new “Express” version of the restaurant offers drive thru and walk up windows with limited seating in the dining area. They are in the process of due diligence including a key element with NCDOT with regard to the projected new construction and widening of Highway #211 which could affect highway frontage, buffer and turn lanes.
This new restaurant would be a welcome addition to McDonald’s, Subway and Dominoes the current franchises operating here in Seven Lakes.
Phil Russo, Captain D’s VP of Real Estate sees Drive-Thru as a trend now. We feel this interest in the drive-thru business is the wave of the future. We’re prepared for it.”
Captain D’s serves a wide variety of seafood that includes freshly prepared entrees and the company’s signature batter dipped fish. The restaurants also offer premium-quality, grilled items such as shrimp, Tilapia and Salmon, as well as hush puppies, desserts and freshly brewed, Southern-style sweet tea, a Captain D’s favorite.
